Static Frequency Converter (SFC)

Applications

Power supply Frequency required to convert from 50Hz / 60Hz AC source into 10Hz / 60 / 125 / 400 / 500 Hz Ac source

The SFC System is designed to change conventional 50 Hz to 60Hz or 60 Hz to 50Hz electrical energy, OR change conventional 50Hz / 60Hz to 100Hz/200Hz/400Hz and 500Hz etc.,the frequency conversion is accomplished in a two (2)-stage process. The first stage converts the incoming Alternating supply voltage to a controlled DC voltage (rectification). The second stage inverts the DC voltage to an Alternating supply voltage at the desired output frequency (Inversion).

Static frequency converter is converter who converts input power supply frequency to another required frequency. By name static means this frequency converter do not have any movable parts like electrical motor AC or DC. This entire system is built with the help of Power Electronic devices. Like Mosfet IGBT.

In India or many nations have Electrical supply having Frequency either 50 Or 60 Hz. And in practice many application are based on 10 / 50 / 60 / 125 / 400 / 500 / 1000 Hz. Hence if any one need Frequency other than available in Power distribution then we need such type of SFC. In this case output Frequency required may be different starting range from 10 Hz to 1000Hz with output Sinusoidal waveform either in Single Phase or Three Phase.

Here every product is different since output Frequency, Voltage &  Phase my be different.
