Static Frequency Converter

India and many other countries have input electrical supply with 50Hz frequency.
Many applications require an electrical supply frequency in the range of 60Hz to 1KHz.
SFC can provide the required output frequency in the range of 60Hz to 1000Hz with a sine wave output, either in single-phase or three-phase.
As the name indicates, static frequency converters do not have movable parts like AC or DC electrical motors.
Power electronic devices like MOSFET/IGBT are used.
SFC is designed to convert the conventional frequency of 50Hz into 60Hz to 1KHz.
The frequency conversion is accomplished in a two-stage process:
- First Stage: Converts the incoming AC supply to a controlled DC supply.
- Second Stage: Inverts the DC supply to an AC supply at the desired frequency.
